How Often Should You Really Get A Haircut Or Fade?

This is one of the most common questions we get, and the honest answer is: it depends on what you're growing and how sharp you like to look, not a fixed number of weeks everyone should follow.

For Fades And Barbing

A sharp skin fade or line-up starts losing its shape within 2 to 3 weeks as your hair grows out unevenly around the edges. If you like your lineup crisp at all times, every 2 weeks is realistic. If you're not too particular about the edges, 3 to 4 weeks still works, you'll just notice the fade softening as it grows.

For Longer Hair And Styled Cuts

If you're growing your hair out or maintaining a style like braids or a relaxed cut, you're looking at trims every 6 to 8 weeks, mainly to cut off split ends and keep the shape healthy. Waiting too long between trims doesn't actually make hair grow faster, it just means more damaged ends to deal with later.

What Actually Determines It

  • How fast your hair grows (varies a lot from person to person)
  • How sharp or precise you want your look at all times
  • Whether you're maintaining a style or growing length
  • How your hair responds to product and heat, if you style often, trims matter more

If you're not sure where you fall, come in and we'll take a look at your hair and tell you honestly what schedule makes sense, not just what keeps you coming back more often.

5 Signs Your Skin Is Asking For A Professional Facial

Good skincare at home matters, but there's only so much a bottle of serum can do. Here are 5 signs it's time to bring in a professional.

1. Your Products Have Stopped Working

If your usual routine used to keep your skin clear and it suddenly isn't, that's usually a sign of buildup that home products can't clear on their own. A proper facial resets your skin so your products can actually do their job again.

2. Texture You Can Feel But Not See

Run your fingers across your cheek in good light. If it feels bumpy or uneven even though it looks fine, that's often trapped dirt and dead skin sitting under the surface, exactly what deep cleansing and exfoliation are built to handle.

3. Breakouts In The Same Spots, Repeatedly

One pimple is normal. The same spot breaking out every few weeks usually means something underneath isn't being cleared properly. A facial with proper extraction gets underneath that in a way squeezing at home doesn't.

4. Your Skin Looks Tired Even When You're Not

Dull, flat-looking skin is often just dead skin sitting on the surface for too long. A facial's exfoliation step alone can bring back visible brightness within a day.

5. It's Been More Than 6 Weeks

Even with a solid home routine, most skin benefits from a professional deep clean every 4 to 6 weeks. If you genuinely can't remember your last facial, that's your answer.

If two or more of these sound like you, it's probably time. Come in and we'll look at your skin properly before recommending anything.

Pedicure & Manicure

Nail Care 101: What A Good Mani-Pedi Actually Does

A lot of people think of manicures and pedicures as just polish and pretty nails. That's part of it, but a proper one does more work than most people realize.

It's A Health Check, Not Just A Polish Job

A good manicure or pedicure starts with a proper soak and cleaning, which helps a trained tech actually spot issues early, like ingrown nails, dry cracked skin, or early fungal spots, before they turn into something painful.

Callus Removal Isn't Just Cosmetic

Thick calluses on your feet, especially around the heels, aren't just rough patches. Left unchecked, they crack, and cracked heels are one of the most common reasons people end up in real foot pain. Regular callus removal keeps that from ever becoming a problem.

Cuticle Care Matters More Than People Think

Pushing back and trimming cuticles properly (not cutting them aggressively at home) protects the area where new nail growth starts. Done wrong, it opens the door to infection. Done right, it's one of the simplest things you can do for long-term nail health.

How Often Should You Go?

  • Every 2 to 3 weeks if you wear gel or polish regularly
  • Every 4 weeks for general upkeep, even without polish
  • Sooner if you notice dryness, cracking, or an ingrown nail forming

Healthy hands and feet aren't just about how they look, they're about avoiding the small problems that turn into bigger ones. Worth treating as regular maintenance, not a once-in-a-while treat.
